The Chef
A fixture of Toronto's dining scene, Michael Angeloni has led the kitchens of some of the city's most talked-about restaurants. The Polish-Italian chef's craft has been shaped by influential mentors — including Grant van Gameren of The Black Hoof, David Lee of Splendido, and Dario Tomaselli of Oro.
Though best known for Italian cooking, Angeloni's career has ranged far beyond it. That range now lives across the group — from the French cooking of Restaurant Lucie to the Roman-style pizza of Notte and the New Canadian table at The Berczy Tavern.
His most personal project, Pasta Privato, is a hidden 30-seat room built around hand-folded pasta and an evolving tasting menu — its inaugural concept, Un Omaggio(“an homage”), a tribute to the mentors and moments that shaped him.
